Lager & Pizza - Lager beers are lighter-bodied, everyday easy-drinking beers. That makes them the perfect companion for pretty much every rustic standard meal. They pair extremely well with a heavy dish as they are crisp and refreshing. It makes it the perfect beer to drink while having a conversation and sharing food with friends or loved ones. Therefore my personal favorite dish to pair with lager beer is Pizza. It just goes hand in hand, the light beer easily cuts through the fatty cheese and the bready aromas of the beer match the pizza dough perfectly. Whatever topic you prefer, be it spicy salami or goat cheese and fresh figs it works very well with lagers. Just think of college party with red solo cups and delivery pizza, or a romantic pizza dinner at your local Italian with a crispy boy to round it out.
The classic lager - also known simply as pilsner - is a light-bodied, highly-attenuated, gold-colored, bottom-fermented bitter German beer style showing excellent head retention and an elegant, floral hop aroma. Crisp, clean, and refreshing, it showcases the finest quality German malt and hops.
