The time in apple brandy barrels lends a freshness, not unlike sweet red apple, as well as dark fruit flavours that almost lean towards tangy. In this case, the oak-ageing has helped all of the flavours to become smooth and well-integrated with no rough edges and a nice touch of coffee bitterness on the finish to balance the fruit character.
