State of Mind is a series of one-off, small-batch and experimental beer releases as we explore processes like barrel-ageing and other exciting and unusual styles of beer.
We were inspired to launch this range after the huge success of BBA Empress Tonkoko, which we launched back in early 2019 with the Buffalo trace version going on to win the award for the UK’s best Barrel Aged beer in the World Beer Awards 2019. We have been working hard behind the scenes adding to our barrel-ageing collection and have some real treats to release over the coming months. And we will be adding even more beer to barrels in the new year once our main production moves across to our new site and we have the capacity to brew some more interesting beer styles and more importantly the space to store the barrels.
BA CHERRY TONKOKO
BA Cherry Tonkoko: a 9.5% barrel-aged cherry, coconut, cacao, tonka and vanilla milk stout. Originally brewed back in July 2019 as an amplified version of Tonkoko with added cherries (Cherry Tonkoko), this rich and luxurious stout spent 12 months maturing in a selection of French Burgundy barrels that has amplified all the flavours and decadence of the base beer, with an even more complex and rounded finish from the rich wine barrels.
