Brasserie Dupont 6x330ml Bottles & 2x Glass
2x Moinette - The Brasserie Dupont’s flagship product in the Belgian market: the Moinette! This beer was created in 1955.
Where does its name come from? To find out, we need to go back to Tourpes in the 1900s. The Cense de la Moinette stands on the family estate. The name refers to the shifting ground around it. The name “Moinette” is a corruption of the old French “moëne”, meaning “swamp”, a very common feature in the region at the time.
This is a complex blonde ale with a fruity nose (yellow fruit), enhanced by citrus aromas (orange) and spices (clove).
On the palate, there is a nice balance between bitterness and sweetness. The result is a wonderfully dense ale that is also delightfully light.
Best served at cellar temperature (12°C), as an aperitif or to accompany dishes like the famous “Lapin à la Moinette”, asparagus or our Moinette Jeune and Moinette Vieux cheeses.
2x Moinette Ambree - This amber beer features strong fragrances and is marked by the selection of 5 special malts, accompanied by fruity peachy notes.
On the palate there is an explosion of praline aromas, combining chocolate, hazelnut and coffee. The clean bitterness makes this a beautifully light cocktail of flavours.
We recommend serving it at cellar temperature (12°C) or very slightly chilled, as an aperitif or with food.
At Christmas, it goes brilliantly with foie gras on toast with onion jam: a real treat! Whether you’ve got something to celebrate or just fancy a treat, a lovely glass of Moinette Ambrée goes perfectly with a selection of cheeses. We love it with Moinette au malt et au houblon and Moinette Vieux.
