Jenever Barrel Aged Flanders Red
Brewed in collaboration with our pals at Homeland Brewery in Amsterdam, this Flanders Red-inspired sour is the second part of our collaboration. We selected a four-month-old blend from our Flanders Red stock and aged it for around 10 months in two Jenever barrels, kindly sourced by Homeland. Jenever is a traditional Dutch spirit made with juniper.
When we tasted the beer, we decided it was too special to blend or add fruit. Instead, we chose to showcase the character imparted by the barrels. The result is complex and aromatic, with balsamic and floral notes alongside blackberry, juniper and oak.
