A trip to Cardiff is not compete without a pit stop at Hard Lines. This cafe-cum-roastery have been making a name for themselves with their masterful roasts and joyful branding. If you find yourself in the Welsh capital they are well worth checking out.
To develop this beer we sampled a selection of Hard Lines coffee from different origins, settling on the San Florenico for its rich hazelnut & chocolate aroma.
With such a strong starting point we decided to double down on the N*tella vibes. Joining the coffee we added chocolate, a heck load of roasted hazelnuts, some vanilla for a sweetness that isn't saccharine & a pinch of salt to really bring everything together.
The result is pretty special!

When Olga inherited Finca San Florencio from her father Egidio in 1981, she converted the farm from sugarcane to coffee. Now, instead of equipment to process sugarcane into crystallised panela, the farm has fermentation tanks, canals, and patios to wash and dry coffee.
Olga grows coffee under the shade of the chalun tree on her farm, paying careful attention to the natural biodiversity of Aldea Las Barrancas (outside Xela). She also places a special focus on social well-being, not only hiring her neighbours to work on the farm but also providing agricultural training workshops.
