Amity stands for community, friendship and good beer which is exactly what this IWD brew was all about.
As a female director of a brewery and not from a beery background Verity wanted to host a brew day that was genuinely open to all no matter how you identify or how much you know about beer. We opened our doors to the local community and were delighted to see 35 people turn up across the day to get involved and learn more about brewing.
We had local artists and makers from within the mills where Amity is based but also people from the beer industry and students attended to make multimedia content documenting the event.
This is a Saison, a traditional farmhouse ale that is highly carbonated, fruity and spicy. Meridian hops deliver fresh & zingy citrus lemon/lime notes.
The name of the beer is Galère (meaning a group of people who have an attribute in common) which was a nominated name by those who attended the brew.
The ladders on the branding symbolise how everyone on the brew day supported each other, including holding the ladders for each other while mashing in. We have also used suffragette colours of green, white and purple on the label, a brilliant suggestion from Pip.
