We brewed this Barley Wine together with Menno Olivier Brewing and Poch's Cervesa Artesana from Spain. Menno Olivier was the founder of Brouwerij de Molen and currently brews his beers in Spain. Starting a new brewery there is not exactly easy. He sometimes feels like a kind of Don Quixote, bravely fighting against the Spanish regulations.
Don Quichot is a complex Barley Wine with a beautiful dark copper color and an enthusiastic alcohol percentage of 14%. The beer has a full, malty taste with tones of caramel, dried fruit, malt and toffee. With a strong hoppiness it is also an ideal beer to let mature for a long time, which makes the flavors even deeper and more complex.
