With its insatiable thirst for knowledge, our Pilsner receives one award after another. As early as 1975, Helmar Schmid, then head of our craft brewery, gave it the name Diplom Pils.
With over 120 international and national awards, this unusual bestowal of an academic degree remains more than justified. In 2009, this special Pilsner was crowned World's Best Pilsner at the World Beer Awards, making it the best in its class. Thanks to our consistent commitment to top quality, it was awarded World's Best German Pilsner in 2014, World's Best German-Style Pale Lager in 2016, and World's Best Classic Pilsner in 2020 and 2025.
Today, Diplom Pils is not only the most popular beer of the Waldhaus craft brewery – it is a true Pilsner classic.
