We brewed a base Berliner Weisse using a traditional grist (lager malt, wheat and acidulated malt), albeit somewhat stronger than is typical of the style (around twice the strength) , before committing it to brandy barrels acquired from a distillery in Oregon, USA and layered two additions of orange and lemon peel while the beer spent 7 months resting on oak.
