Sometimes we are completely surprised by what great beer comes out of one specific barrel. We filled a fresh Laphroaig barrel with our Imperial Russian Stout and the result was so good that we decided to bottle only the content of this barrel.
Laphroaig is a whisky from the Scottish island of Islay. The malt used for Islay whiskies is traditionally dried over a fire stoked with peat, the only fuel on the island. This gives the whisky its typical smoky medicinal aroma and flavour.
This taste and smell, together with hints of chocolate and coffee from the Imperial Stout, are also amply found in this beautiful Barrel Project. To emphasize its exclusive character, we have bottled this beer in 37.5 CL bottles.
