12 Plato Pils is a Czech-style pilsner. Inspired by a recent trip to Bohemia, our good friend Graham came up with this beer while working here at Newbarns. We used a base of Hana (the original Czech pilsner barley), amplified by a touch of speciality malt and a huge decoction. 12 Plato Pils is super bready but still crisp and quaffable thanks to buckets of Tettnang and Saaz hops.
This was our first attempt at a czech style pils last year, and we really loved it, so we decided to bring it back. Tasting just as good as the first attempt..
